Is it too early to project a starting five?
Center – Ndumanya
PG – Feagin
SG – Hauser
Swing – Caruso
Maybe Pugh … does anybody else scream that they belong in the starting five?
Best freshman – Walters
Best Newcomer – Caruso
My prospective starting five would be the same as Cadmus. I think that guard is probably the easiest spot for a frosh to make a big impact, so I’ll take Turner as the top freshman, though I think Roche and Vrankic are the most critical new faces for long term success. If Roche isn’t at least passable, the year after this one will be tough.
Agree on Ndumanya/Pugh/Caruso/Hauser/Feagin
Turner for top Frosh.
But don’t sleep on Vrankic, kid is pretty skilled, can score inside and out and IMO is the only true ‘4’ on the roster so he has a chance to get some PT behind Pugh. My only question on Vrankic is strength/weight…might get out muscled a bit this year, hopefully he can add strength and put on a little weight by Soph yr.
I think it’s gotta be hauser, feagin, Caruso, Pugh, ndumanya. At least until turner/Walters/Roche show us something. The more I look at it, the more I love our balance of positions, experiences, attributes. Maybe it’s just the doldrums of summer but I’m really excited to see these guys play.
Best freshman I’ll say turner because I think there’s more of a log jam in front of Roche/vrankic and Walters might be a bit raw. Turner could be the first off the bench for us.
