Make no mistake – the stakes are high for SCU to be successful in MBB.  Read about some of the financial details and money it will take to get there.  Gonzaga did it, and you can read the impact it has had on the entire University.

Now that the FBI is enlightening us as to the true cost of becoming National, it makes me appreciate, even more, our past coaches that managed to compete at a high level without endangering the integrity of the program.

Anyone worried that Sendek will get a call from a big time program looking for a “clean” coach?

Maybe it’s my hopeful thinking, but can’t imagine he’d want to walk into a scenario that was just punished (loss of scholarships, etc)

I have to admit, I do like the way your mind works Weave, but no… Sendek is not on the radar of big time programs at this point, even given the current situation College BB finds itself in.  That said there are lots of worried programs just trying to walk softly at this point (midnight madness might be more like crickets than fireworks for some)

Honestly this stuff has been going on for quite some time.  I must admit I had no idea about the amount of $$$ and that revelation kind of surprised me, but I do know a few friends who were exposed in the 90’s for taking payments (or rather, their parents taking cash) so I figured it was still happening, but not to this degree.

October, just a few hours away, and I think I can faintly hear college basketballs bouncing in the distance.  Looking forward to our SCU squad this year.

Probably more “shoes” to drop…Once everyone starts talking to the FBI to help “cut deals” in exchange for dirt.

A 10x return on the “seed”/”seedy” money is pretty easy for a future NBA star.  NBA money is crazy – even a hack like Delevedova got $38 M over 4 years..5% of that is a nice wad…
