Update on the broncohoops.com url … I’ve spent some time working with Zig’s widow, Nikki on the matter. Our goal is to transfer the domain to the Broncohoops technical team when the domain becomes up for renewal (June). At that point we will decide the best coarse of action with wakeupswig.com and broncohoops.com.

Categories… mostly good. Do you want to add “Game Preview” or make it “Game Preview/Recap” to take care of both ends? Need a special category for BBs game by game Challenge? Add one for general athletics or other sports?
Just realized that my text is centered and I can’t adjust it except for going into the HTML. Can you add more formatting options?
The hard-to-see very light gray bar is the one between each main post (e.g. the one above this post and my reply above it regarding the domain name). The one between the replies is ok (e.g. the one between My username and symbol above and the Broncos&Brew post above it).
On the titles, if they can’t be displayed, maybe make the posters name smaller so easier to see the text below. IMO, the biggest text on the page should be the thread title and the posters names look like titles..
Didn’t see the recruiting links, etc, on the right. They still appear in the home body.
Also the sign-up process is a bit klugy. Hard to explain. It seems like I am in the site, try to post/reply, it asked me to log-in or sign up, I do, then it takes me back to post/reply and I try to post but it won’t b/c I haven’t accepted my confirmation email–which it didn’t tell me when I logged-in/signed up. So I did that and logged in, and it tells me it was a success, but it still doesn’t show I am logged in.

Categories – added Game Preview/Recap as one, skipped out on the BB challenge for now (Other) and add a General Athletics. We can tweak categories titles and add/remove as we see what gets used and what does not.

Recruiting sites has been added to the sidebar with a link to the post with all individual site links. Adding the links individually to the sidebar would be too much IMO.
The recruiting links and schollie chart will remain in the home body until posts start moving them down.
For signup process, I see your point here. After clicking the confirmation link in email some might think they are logged in. That is not the case (as the little message reads). Clicking the confirmation link only confirms the account. The user will then need to click login to actually login. In a perfect world confirmation link would go to login page but unfortunately that is out of my limited skill set to change. Anyone user confused can call BroncoHoops customer support where they will likely be on hold for a very long time 🙂
Thanks for all the feedback and being our final test before go-live. Great ideas and I will implement as much as I can!
For what it’s worth, I have tweaked the style sheets for a few websites and I can write up custom CSS if it’s any help.

Old posts will not be ported over. New coach, new broncohoops. Clean slate as they say. We have a link to the “archives” aka the current site on the side bar.
Brian – if you are willing to take a peak and provide any insight I’d be happy to send over login credentials. I’ve tweaked the stylesheet a bit (colors, formatting, simple stuff). When it comes to say adding formatting options to the post text box, I am less skilled. Let me know if you want to take a peak.
Probably getting into unfamiliar territory for me with the post text box options. I’ve modified a few plugins in WordPress so maybe could pull it off. Not sure, but willing to try.

As I look at the above thread in action, it would be nice to reduce the size of the poster names. they are a bit distracting.

I think the topics that are white on the homepage mean that there is an update. If its shaded, then you have read the all of the comments already.
There are email notifications but its an all or nothing type of deal. Everyone gets email notifications or no one does. Not sure if folks want inboxes flooded with emails from BroncoHoops.

sorry for the second and thrid posts. When I hit reply on the first post, the button changed to “submitting” or whatever it said and wouldn’t change, so I tthought it didn’t go through. So I refreshed the page and still didn’t see it.
Then, the second time, I did the same thing (and it did the same thing), but I didn’t see that the previous post was in fact the last one on the page and mine had moved to the next page. The “< 1 2” is really hard to see.
Sooo…can we have more posts on a single page and can the page numbers “< 1 2 3” be more visible. (red perhaps??). Can you make it so if my post is the first one on the next page, i get moved to the next page.
I also am running into the “submit” problem, where it appears that my post doesn’t go through until i hit refresh
Still looking into the submit thing. Works fine from my admin account but I saw what you were talking about when I signed in as a normal account.

Browsers do seem to make a difference; posting video for example, seems to be easier with some than others.
It appears browsers do make a difference. Surprisingly IE and Firefox work best, Chrome has some bugs. Will inquire with framework developers to see whats up with that.
FIX – thread/post count per page has been increased to 20. I am working on an infinite scroll feature so thread count won’t be an issue. Thanks!

I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but the infinite scroll is already available on the mobile site.

Any way to change your settings so that threads with new posts in them are sorted to the top of the page in reverse chronological order (e.g. most recent at the top)?
When I log in here, I see “All Posts” and “Following” with the corresponding number next to them for the number of new posts in either category. But then I have to scroll all the way down the page to find and click on the thread if I want to see a new post that’s in an older thread. This thread, for example, is way down there because it was started a while ago, but it’s still seeing post traffic.
So you are looking to have posts within a thread appear “most recent” at the top? I assume with the main thread topic still pinned at the top (obv)?
I guess my only concern is that if you are reading a thread for the first time and attempting to get caught up on the conversation, you need to scroll to bottom and then read up.
Catch 22 I guess. I can explore reverse chronological if that’s what others like as well.
I think he means the threads as a whole. Not the individual posts in each thread.

oddly enough, I checked this site on my phone and it already has this feature enabled on the mobile version. It would be nice to get it added to the full site as well.

Unfortunately there was just a wordpress update that auto-installed and the framework developer needs to release an update to fix some bugs that have occured since the WP update. A bit at their mercy right now in terms of when that will happen.

Broncos&Brew you are doing a fantastic job by the way trying to adhere to all of our rec’s.
One more thing I think I just noticed… For each thread there is a button that says “Last Reply”, is there a way so if we click it, then it will automatically open the thread at the bottom?
Bronco& Brew should be canonized for his efforts on this board. I can’t thank him enough!

Can threads be sorted by most recent post? In other words, if there is a post to an old thread, the thread gets moved to the top.
When I come to the site, the threads seem sorted by the thread origination date. The newest started thread is at the top, but you could have a 10 day old thread and a post made on the thread today, but the post will be buried b/c the thread is old. So I have to scroll and look for the most recent updated date (which is hard b/c the font is in light gray).
