Short answer….little to no chance. He may or may not get signed to a summer league contract. He’d have to play out of his mind in summer league to get invited to training camp and make a regular season roster or even NBDL for that matter. Most probably didn’t hear but he played poorly at the Portsmouth Invitational a few months ago which is made of graduating seniors, generally guys who aren’t expected to be drafted, at best a few fringe NBA guys come out of it.
He’s undersized and below par athletically for an NBA 2 (shooting guard) and isn’t a good enough playmaker, ball handler or athlete to play the point in the NBA.
Re: comparisons to Mathews…Mathews is bigger, more athletic, a better defender and rebounder and a comparable 3pt shooter and yet is still not expected to be drafted. Brownridge might have a slight edge over Mathews in his creatitivity as a scorer and midrange pull-up game either off screens or the dribble but that’s about it.
That said, he could have a solid career overseas. Hope he does.
